The Skill of Resilience

Adversity is inevitable. In poker it looks like coolers, downswings, and mistakes that echo. In life it looks like seasons you never asked for. The event is real, but the lasting damage usually comes from what your mind decides the event means.

Resilience isn’t “staying positive.” Resilience is keeping your hands on the wheel.

Here’s what I believe and what I teach:

  • Resilience is a trainable skill, built through reps, not inspiration.

  • Your nervous system has unreliable Factory Settings. Under pressure, it gets loud, fast, and certain.

  • We install Default Settings: simple scripts you can run when you’re tired, tilted, or wired.

  • We separate control from variance, so you stop trying to win what can’t be won.

  • We don’t do denial. We use honest thinking that leads to clean action.

  • We build capacity like a bankroll: sleep, movement, boundaries, and recovery protect your edge.

  • We train connection and communication, because no one should carry pressure alone.

This work is a mix of lived experience and rigorous study, translated into poker-native tools. My role isn’t to hype you up. It’s to be your thinking partner, so you make better decisions when it matters and recover faster when you don’t.

Your Unshakable Mind is educational performance training. It is not gambling advice, not mental health treatment, and not emergency support.
